elixP™ Fixation Technology
Our bovine pericardial tissue patch, Invengenx®, is fixed with our proprietary elixPTM Fixation Technology. This preserves the triple helical structure of the individual collagen molecules (intramolecular) and between collagen fibrils (intermolecular). This fixation process achieves complete reduction of antigenicity and preserves the natural collagen formation of the tissue. elixPTM also enhances the mechanical strength of the tissue while maintaining its superior flexibility, soft and supple characteristics.
elixPTM preserves and strengthens the bonding of the helices within individual collagen molecules and between other collagen molecules. This treatment leads to 100% crosslinking of the tissue to prevent unwanted effects such as suture line bleeding, delamination, and inflammatory response.
The subsequent intermolecular crosslinking of collagen fibrils enhances the durability and increases overall performance of the resulting collagen matrix. The enhanced matrix enables precise manipulation for ease of application, provides superior scaffolding, and maintains the collagen’s natural pliability.
After fixation, our patches integrate seamlessly by supporting cell and tissue in-growth and maintains structural integrity and viability for longer than ever before possible.
The native membrane’s structural integrity and biophysical properties are enhanced while providing exceptional tensile and suture sustaining potency, as well as providing angiogenic properties.
This advanced treatment leads to superior biocompatibility with the host tissue and prevents degradation to allow for a bovine pericardial tissue patch that can be trusted for a plethora of surgical applications.
